“Whiskey-Marinated Steak?!?” confirmed one happy husband when told what dinner was to be. The smile grew wider as he tucked in, and he was down-right jubilant for the rest of the evening. We’d love to take the credit, but we simply followed a recipe from Delicious Magazine. Be sure to plan ahead, for an overnight marinating is essential for full flavor.
3 tbs. whiskey
3 tbs. honey
3 tbs. soy sauce
thumb-nail size piece of ginger, finely grated
1 garlic clove, crushed
2 steaks (we used New York Strip)
Combine the marinade ingredients in a shallow dish and add the steaks. Turn to coat, then cover and chill overnight.
Bring to room temperature, shake off any marinade and grill 5-7 minutes per side, or to your liking.
Tip the marinade into a small saucepan and bubble for a few minutes. Serve with the steak.
