Great British Burgers

Great indeed! Filled with chopped shallots and sharp English mustard, these burgers tick all the boxes for the perfect patio party meal: they need to be prepared ahead, which makes mealtime quick and effortless. You can top with your choice of cheese, or do what we did and serve them nestled inside Cheshire Cheese and Onion Rolls and topped with Homemade Ketchup.

Great British Burgers

1¼ lb. good quality ground beef (we used 90% lean)
4 shallots, minced
2 tsp. English mustard
1 egg yolk
1 tbs. vegetable oil
1/3 cup breadcrumbs (we used Panko)

Gently combine all the ingredients and shape into 4 patties. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 days).

Prepare the grill and season the burgers. Cook for 5 minutes per side for medium rare, or to your liking.
