Bourbon-Glazed Sausages

This glaze is so good, we could eat it on anything! Here, it is drizzled over an ordinary sausage (pork or chicken — your choice) to transform the lowly link to something extraordinary. You may make the glaze ahead of time and simply reheat it when you’re ready. Think out-of-the-sausage-casing here . . . grilled anything would be better beneath this glorious glaze!

Bourbon-Glazed Sausages

1 lb. sausages, links or coils
½ cup packed dark muscovado sugar
¾ cup bourbon
2 tbs. soy sauce
2 tbs. yellow mustard
2 tbs. tomato ketchup

Heat the oven to 425°F. Place the sausages in a roasting pan and cook for 35-40 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.

Meanwhile, place the remaining ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a gentle boil. Continue to bubble until reduced to a sticky, pour-able glaze. Drizzle over the sausages to serve.
