It happened again. I baked up a recipe out of BBC GoodFood Magazine to share with a group of friends over coffee, and everyone LOVED it and wanted the recipe! Now, I’m always happy to share a recipe, but the problem in this case was that more than one of the ingredients called for was something that no other cook that I know of, bar my dear friend Connie, would have on hand. ‘Mixed spice’ and ‘golden caster sugar’ are not to be had off of the shelves of any of our local grocery stores.
I came home and did a bit of research online to try to discover how best to make it possible to share this recipe with those who had requested it, and got to thinking that others might enjoy the fruits of my labor — and GoodFood for US is the result. Happily, Connie is fully on board. Delighted, in fact, as I am, to be able to share the wonderful recipes that we’ve made our own with a wider audience. Get ready to tuck in!
